Forlani Joins Leguizamo in CBS Pilot
Reuters | Latest Financial News / Full News Coverage: "Claire Forlani has been tapped to star opposite John Leguizamo in CBS' untitled Diamond-Weisman drama pilot, with Craig Bierko and Michael Pena also cast in the project.

The untitled Diamond-Weisman project revolves around working parents -- a sports agent dad (Leguizamo) and a magazine editor mom (Forlani) -- who juggle domestic responsibilities. Also cast in the project is Sam Lerner ('Envy').

Forlani, who starred in the films 'Meet Joe Black' and 'Basquiat,' was most recently seen in the biopic 'Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius,' opposite James Caviezel.

Pena, most recently seen in 'Million Dollar Baby,' co-stars on FX's 'The Shield' this season.

Bierko will next be seen in the Ron Howard-directed drama'Cinderella Man.'"

"Hooligans" and "Cowboy del Amor" Sweep Top SXSW '05 Prizes: "Lexi Alexander's 'Hooligans,' starring Elijah Wood, Charlie Hunnam, Claire Forlani, Marc Warren, and Leo Gregory won both the narrative feature audience award and the narrative jury prize at the 2005 SXSW Film Festival, while Michele Ohayon's 'Cowboy del Amor' was the winner of both the documentary audience award and the doc jury prize. At the SXSW film awards in Austin, TX Tuesday night, festival and conference producer Matt Dentler said that it was the first time that films won both jury and audience awards.

Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady's 'The Boys of Baraka' was won the special jury prize from the documentary jury and was the runner-up in doc audience award balloting. Ian Gamazon and Neill Della Luna's 'Cavite' won the special jury award from the narrative jury and Ben Rekhi's 'Waterborne' was the runner-up for the narrative audience prize."

New on video: "Bobby Jones may have been the greatest golfer of all time, winning the Grand Slam of four major tournaments before retiring in 1930 when he was only 28. He was an amateur defeating professionals, a man who had to earn a living and played mostly in major tournaments with gaps in between. Jim Caviezel stars in a respectful biopic, which shows Jones as a tortured man who seems to find little joy in golf and is often in pain; Walter Hagan (Jeremy Northam), the era's top pro, seems to have more fun. With Claire Forlani as Jones' wife and Malcolm McDowell as his best friend and biographer. Calm, level, respectful, lacking in hype and with a lot of golf. Rated PG."
